2015-05-19 - After four events, Timi will start with a new partner in Mixed Doubles at the second Grand Slam event of the season in Paris: the 22-year old Hungarian player will enter the tournament with Austrian Alexander Peya, instead of the American Eric Butorac.

Timi debut in Mixed Doubles a year ago. With Butorac she reached the semifinal at the Roland Garros, then they won two matches in Wimledon. At the US Open and at this year’s Australian Open they defeated in the opening round.

- What is the reason of that change?

- Unfortunately, Eric’s ranking is not good enough to get into the main draw, or it would be very uncertain. Our relationship is very good, he is a nice guy and helpful. He always congratulates Me after my successes and I also congratulate him. But, regardless of that, our game didn’t work recently. But, I would add, that the draw was also very tough at the last Grand Slams. But now I thought, I'll try with someone else. We'll see what comes out!

- How you “found” Peya, did you seen him playing before?

- Yes, I saw him, few times. Last year he was at the top doubles players, then their baby was born. Therefore, he played less so now he slipped back slightly. But he is a great player, of course. I am glad that I can start with him. Otherwise, simply he asked me if I wanted to play with him. I discussed it with Eric, and then I said yes to Alexander.

- Last year you played a semifinal at the Garros in Mixed Doubles. What will be your goal this year?

- I'll be honest: the Mixed Doubles is the least important to me. But of course I would like to achieve a good result. Of course, the singles is the most important! Then the Women’s Doubles, with a possible Grand Slam triumph later in the future and the WTA Finals this year. I hope, that I will “present” good results from the Garros this year.

Alexander Peya was born on June 27, 1980. He is a former Top100 player in singles, but he achieved his biggest successes in doubles. The experienced Austrian player’s career best ranking was No3 (12 August 2013), now he is ranked 17th. So far, he has won 13 ATP doubles tournament, this year he celebrated with Brazilian Bruno Soares after the clay court event in Munich. Peya and Soares was a finalist in 2013 at the US Open.

The 34-year old Austrian player was also a semifinalist at Roland Garros (2013) and Wimbledon (2011) as well.

This year Peya reached the last eight in Mixed Doubles at the Australian Open with Czech Andrea Hlavackova (two time Grand Slam-winner in Women’s Doubles and single Grand Slam champion in Mixed Doubles).
