Australian Open 2015: against the US Open winners in mixed doubles

Timi and her American partner played together in the last three Grand Slam tournament: after the excellent result in Paris they reached the third round at Wimbledon and lost in the opening round at the US Open. The young Hungarian is ranked 21st, while Butorac is ranked 20th in the doubles World ranking.

The 28-year old Mirza is 5th, this is her career best. So far the Indian player won 23 WTA nad 4 ITF tournament in doubles. In mixed doubles she played five Grand Slam final: she won in 2009 at the Australian Open (Co: Mahesh Bhupathi), in 2012 at the Roland Garros (Co: Bhupathi) and in 2014 at the US Open (Co: Soares). In 2008 at the Australian Open (Co: Bhupathi) and in 2014 at the Australian Open (Co Horia Tecau) lost the final. A year ago Timi’ constant doubles partner, Kristina Mladenovic won with Daniel Nestor in Melbourne.

The 32-year-old Soares is ranked at the 10th place in the world rankings, his career-best position is 3 (7 October 2013). During his career he won 18 ATP doubles tournament. So far, he was three times finalists at Grand Slam tournament in mixed doubles: in 2012 (Co: Ekaterina Makarova) and in 2014 (Co: Mirza) remained undefeated in the US Open, while in 2013 he lost the last match at Wimbledon (Co: Lisa Raymond) .
