Roland Garros 2014 : Errani and Vinci is the doubles opponent

The Italians were the 2012 Champions and 2013 finalist in Paris.

Timi is ranked 32nd in doubles, her career best was 26th (02.03.2014). She won 8 WTA and 9 ITF tournaments in this genre. This year she celebrated a triumph in Sydney (Co: Lucie Safarova) and Kuala Lumpur (Co: Chan Hao-Ching), and was a finalist in Paris (Co: Kristina Mladenovic) and Monterrey (Co: Olga Govortsova).

The 21-year old Hungarian player celebrated her career best Grand Slam result this January, she reached the third round with Petra Martic at the Australian Open.

The Paris meeting will not be Timi’s first match against Errani and Vinci. Last year the Hungarian youngster and Mandy Minella lost 5:7, 6:4, 10-4 in the second round. This year in the Sydney final Timi and Safarova won 7:5, 3:6, 10-7. In February the Italians retired from the semifinal against Timi and Mladenovic.

In 2012 the Hungarian player and Su-Wei Hsieh reached the second round at the Roland Garros. Last year Timi lost in the first round with Minella.

Lepchenko is currently ranked 78th in the doubles rankings, her career best was 40th (06.17.2013). During her career she won 1 ITF event in this genre. Last season the American player was a semifinalist at the Australian Open (Co: Zheng Sai-sai) and reached the last eight at the Roland Garros (Co: Zheng Sai-sai).

Errani and Vinci were the World No 1 double for long time. Now they are ranked 3rd, they lead this season’s point race. Errani and Vinci won the Australian Open this year, and were Champions in Stuttgart and Madrid. They were finalists in Rome and Sydney, and they reached the semifinal in Paris and Doha.
