Australian Open 2014 : Timi and Martic won a thriller

The match lasted 2 hours and 8 minutes.

 
"I am pleased with today’s doubles :D The beginning of the match was very difficult ...My partner was so nervous. But We just tried to enjoy the game and it was successful. Then in the second set we played less well, the opponent more . Finally come the decisive third set, in which We played again smiling! I’m glad, that We advanced. I got chance to collect more points, and I managed to win a match in a Grand Slam" - Timi said after the match.
 
In the 40-minute first set the Slovakian-Belgian double jumped to a 3:0 lead, gave no chance to to opponent. But after that Timi and Martic took the control, won five games in a row! Cibulkova and Wickmayer fought hardly, but couldn’t had a chance to equalize. In the tenth game Timi and Martic won to 15.

The Hungarian-Croatian duo broke again at the beginning of the second set, but then suddenly lost three games in a row. Timi and Martic broke back to 3:2, but the rival jumped for a 5:3 lead, which proven decisive.

At the beginning of the third set Timi and Martic played much better, they broke the opponent early. Then they had a 5:3 lead, but suddenly Cibulkova and Wickmayer came back to 5:5! But Timi and Martic took back the control and after a hard battle they won the match!

The Hungarian-Croatian duo’s next opponent will be Ashley Barty and Casey Dellacqua. The Australians last year played in the final at Melbourne, then at Wimbledon and US Open.
