Australian Open 2014 : training with Pavlyuchenkova, and doubles draw

The day after the beautiful Sydney triumph the Hungarian youngster trained with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in Melbourne.

"Now that fortunately my unlucky illnes is cured, I was happy just to work-out again. So again I made a lot of trainings at the gym and played tennis a lot! Probably this is the result of a successful doubles week" - Timi 's statement began.

- What did you do with Pavlyuchenkova during the one hour ? It does not seem much ...

- No matter how much courts are on the Grand Slams, it’s not enough. We have twice one hour for practicing. We have trained with Nastya few times before. I like to play with her, she gives good rhythm. She pay attention to the training, after a short warm-up we played for points, then came to common picture
 
- Who organizes these work-outs, how difficult it is to bring together the practicing?

- It’s different. Sometimes I ask someone, sometimes somebody come to Me. And sometimes I write my name on the practice court and somebody enter her name next to Me...The tournament starts on Monday, so I will have limited training options. I will play with Shvedova, then a lighter physical work-out, then a little footwork, stretching and massage. And finally comes the highly anticipated match on Tuesday .

Timi will play with Petra Martic in doubles in the season's first Grand Slam tournament. The Hungarian-Croatian duo won in the first round in Shenzhen, but retired from the quarterfinal because of Timi’s viral illness.

In Melbourne a Slovakian-Belgian duo will be the first opponent. Timi is ranked 44th, her Croatian partner is 75th. Cibulkova is 123rd, while Wickmayer is 121st.
 
The Slovakian player in 2008 was a quarter finalist at the US Open in this genre . Her career best was 59th, on 08.13.2012.

Wickmayer’s best position was 71st on 02.15.2010. Last year, she won the title in Luxembourg with Liechtenstein’s Stephanie Vogt.
