US Open 2013: Georgian-Polish opponents in doubles

This year Timi has won four WTA doubles competitions: with Mandy Minella she was a finalist in Hobart, Australia, then won with the Luxembourgish player in Bogota, Colombia and Marrakech, Morocco. The Hungarian youngster triumphed in Monterrey, Mexico with Kimiko Date-Krumm of Japan and recently in China's Suzhou with the Dutch Michaella Krajicek. Timi is ranked 60th in doubles.

The 33-year-old Italian player won the singles in 2010 at the Roland Garros, and a year later was finalist. Her career best was in 31.01.2011., she was 4th.

Schiavone had achieved a great success also in doubles! Five years ago, with the Australian Casey Dellacqua she was finalist at Roland Garros, where they lost 6:2, 5:7, 4:6 against Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual. At the Australian Open (2009, Co: Casey Dellacqua), in Wimbledon (2012, Co: Flavia Pennetta) and at the US Open (2006, Co: Kveta Peschke) she reached the top four.

The highly experienced Italian was 8h in doubles ranking at 12.02.2007. Now she is 131st. She was a finalist in doubles 15 times in this genre, has won seven times: 2001 - Sopot (Co: Joannette Kruger), 2004 - Warsaw (Co: Silvia Farina Elia), 2005 - Doha (Co: Alicia Molik), 2006 - Dubai, Luxembourg Moscow (Co: Kveta Peschke), 2009 - Tokyo (Co: Alisa Kleybanova).

This year Schiavone has not yet achieved outstanding results in doubles, in her last three tournamens (Rome, Roland Garros, Wimbledon), Samantha Stosur was her  partner. The Italian-Australian duo in the Italian capital won one, in the French capital two games.

The 22-year-old Oksana Kalashnikova ranked 53rd in doubles, two weeks ago ago shea was 52nd, this is her career best position. During her career she has won two WTA doubles competition: in 2012 in Pune, India (125 000 USD, Co: Nina Bratchikova) and in 2013 in Baku (235 000 USD, Co: Irina Buryachok). This year Kalashnikova was a finalist for a 50 000 USD Chinese ITF tournament, then in Turkey won two 10 000 USD ITF events. After that the Georgian played in WTA and Grand Slam events: at Roland Garros with Rosolska won two matches, while in Wimbledon they reached the second round. Then came the triump in Turkey (25 000 USD) and in Baku. Most recently Kalashnikova and Rosolska won two maches in Toronto.

The 27-year-old Polish tennis player is 45th ranked in doubles. Rosolska’s career best positon was 38th back in 10.10.2011. She played in 12 finals: she triumphed in 2008 in Chile’s Vina del Mar (Co: Liga Dekmeijere), in 2009 in Marbella (Co: Klaudia Jans) and in 2011 in Budapest (Co: Anabel Medina Garrigues).

Rosolska was in quarterfinal at the beginning of the year in Paris (Co: Kveta Peschke) and then a few weeks later, in Kuala Lumpur (Co: Marta Domachowska). Rosolska recently was a semifinalist in Katowice (Co: Domachowska) and Brussels (Co: Olga Govortsova), and reached the third round at Roland Garros with Oksana Kalashnikova. In the last weeks she didn’t enjoy much success, her best result was the 3rd Round in Toronto.
