Roland Garros 2013: defeat in the second round of the quali

The match lasted 1 hour 36 minutes. The 20-year-old Hungarian player enter the doubles main draw with Mandy Minella of Luxembourg.

 "The opponent played extremely well. A player may play as good once or twice a year. Almost every shot was a winner...Then came a torturous second set, where I fought for every point and she deteriorated a bit.But it was still 3:5. After that I won three games in a row with a big fight, began the tie-break with a winning backhand. She completely broke! Then came the rain ... Unbelievable! When we returned I played better, but a few well-played balls slipped out ... That’s it! ... I'm disappointed, because I did my best today, I couldn’t believe, it was simply bad luck ... I didn’t deserve this defeat "- Timi said.

The 20-year-old Polish player is 221st ranked, and this year she couldn’t win two singles matches in one tournament…Unfortunately, at Roland Garros she interrupted the bad series with great serves and very good receives.

In the opening game of the first set  Timi saved three break points, but the fourth was crucial. Kania played fantastic tennis and after 2:0 she broke her opponent again. The second seed won a game after 4:0, but was not able to take control. Timi couldn’t reach a break point, so it was not possible to turn back the set.

Unfortunately, the situation has not changed in the second set, Kania was virtually "untouchable" int he service games…After 2:2 the Polish player broke Timi third time, then led 5:3.

However, with the last chance Timi broke back at 5:4, so th eset was decided int he tie-break. After a hard battle Timi led 4-2, but Kania fought back and won her first match point at 6-5.
