Roland Garros 2013: victory in the first round of quali

The match lasted 1 hour 21 minutes. Timi's next opponent will be the Polish Paula Kania.

"My opponent started very hard, she played just like a Top50 player...She served and received excellently, she was very good on the baseline. Then she slowed a little bit, but I still hit in the previous level, because I have not started the game poorly. I won most of the long rallies. I felt good on the track, quite a number of fans watched the match. I expected that the opponent is trying to get everything in front of her audience. But I calmly deal with the situation "- Timi said after the battle.

The 22-year-old French started better the 40-minute first set... Georges immediately took her opponent's serve, and then pulled away 3:1.

Fortunately, Timi has not been troubled by the French player’s performance, she won three games in a row (4:3). Georges equalized, but after 5.4 she couldn’t hold her service game, Timi had three set points and she won the last ball.

In the second set the second seed Hungarian player easily pulled away 3:0, but Georges surprisingly equalized.

The 20-year-old Polish player is the 221st ranked player of WTA. Last November she was 207, this is her career best so far. Kania especially excels in doubles, in singles she was five time finalist in ITF tournaments: she won in 2010 in Gliwice (Poland, 10, 000 USD) and in 2011in Horb am Neckar (Germany, 10, 000 USD).
