Hungary 3-0 Portugal: Timi won in singles

The 79th ranked Timea Babos defeated Michelle Larcher de Brito in 2 hours 26 minutes.

The first set began with Larcher de Brito’s (ranked 130th) break, but Timi immediately equalized. The Portuguese was always one step ahead, but after 4:3 she decided the fate of first act.

In the second set Timi pulled away 3:1, and after that she was at break advantage several times. Larcher de Brito, however, still was able to hold on in the exciting battle. Finally the 19 year old Hungarian tennis player was the better and won the set.

In the third set Timi led 2:0, but her opponent equalized. The Hungarian player had the chance to deciding everything at 5:3, but lost her serve after 40-40. Larcher de Brito equalized at 5:5, but fortunately it didn’t bother Timi. She won a great battle!
