US Open 2015: good start in WD

Timi and her partner played a great opening act in New York: in the 30-minute first set they gave no chance. The third seed Hungarian-French duo jumped to a 5:0 lead, they broke the opponent to 30 after 1:0 and 3:0.

In the sixth game Mitu and Pereira saved a set point. Then they came back to 40-30 from 40-0 in the seventh game. But fortunately Timi and Kristina Mladenovic lived with the fourt set point.

The second act was much more interesting. But it could have been smoother, for Timi & Kiki. The Romanian-Brasil pair jumped to a 3:0 lead, with a great luck. They saved break points and they won the opponent’s service game after 40-0...

After 4:2 the third seed pair came back, they broke the rival. Then Timi and Kristina Mladenovic saved a set point at 6:5. In the tie-break the Hungarian-French double jumped to a 4-0 and 6-2 lead, and they easily finished the match.

Timi and Mladenovic will meet Dominika Cibulkova and Magdalena Rybarikova in the next round. The Slovakian duo is playing with the singles ranks (Cibulkova is 50th, while Rybarikova is70th), it is the rule of the Grand Slams.
