Sydney: the draw for WD

On Saturday, the doubles draw was also made for the 753 000 USD WTA event in Sydney: Timi and Katarina Srebotnik will meet the pair of Gabrieal Dabrowski and Alicja Rosolska.

The Hungarian-Slovenian duo was seeded 4th in Australia.

The 22-year old Hungarian player has wonderful memories about this tournament! Two years ago, she remained unbeaten with Lucie Safarova, in the final they defeated the World No1 pair of Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci. Last season Timi was semifinalist with Kristina Mladenovic.

This year the Hungarian youngster will start - is scheduled for the entire 2016 season – with the experienced Katarina Srebotnik. The Slovenian doubles specialist is currently ranked 14th, her career best was 1 (4 July 2011). Five years ago, she was the Champion in Wimbledon (partner: Kveta Peschke), and was a finalist four times more in women's doubles at a Grand Slam tournament.

The 23-year old Dabrowski is currently ranked 48th, her caeer best was 40 (20 May 2015). So far, she has won 2 WTA and 11 ITF doubles competition. Last year she was a champion in Monterrey (Mexico, 500 000 USD, hard court), and played in the semifinal in Stanford (United States, 731 000 USD, hard court). Both times her partner was Rosolska.

Timi and Dabrowski played in the junior finals of the 2010 Australian Open.

 

The 30-year old Rosolska is ranked 45th, has a career best of 38 (10 October 2011). So far, she has won 4 WTA and 13 ITF event in doubles.
