Australian Open 2016: Bencic was the better

"Unfortunately, today I did not play the way I wanted to. This is failed...I tried to figure out something, but I did not play well. It was felt, that my game did not work ... Today, nothing was good, not the serve, nor the forehand, and even my movement was not good. I'm sorry, that this is the result today. The tactic would have been good, but I did not realize it. It was one of those days ... I must learn from it. Obviously, I'm still bitter because I felt, that I played well in recent time. But today was not good. I hope, that my mood will be better next days, I will play also doubles. So I must fight back. But we should not forget the past weeks, months when I played well. And I continue to work hard” – said Timi.

The fans saw few surprises this year at the Australian Open in Women’s Singles, but this time not. Bencic didn’t give chance for Timi, she was the better on the court. The 12th seed Swiss star played very well and collected, she served greatly and received dangerously.

At the beginning of the 30-minute first set Bencic broke her opponent to 15, after 1:1. Then she easily hold that lead, Timi was not really in play as a receiver, so she had no chance to came back.

In the ninth game Timi had a chance to 5:4, she led 40-30. But the Swiss teen equalized, then she finished the opening act as a receiver.

The 37-minute second act is decided relatively quickly. Bencic broke her opponent in the fourth game, she lived with the fourth break point after 15-40. Then she hold her service game to 40, this was the closest game for her, as a server.

Timi won her next service game, then showed her spirit at 5:2. She saved a match point, but after that she had no chance as a receiver. After 5:3, 40-0 she saved another match point, but Bencic lived with the third chance.
