Dubai: Timi will meet Vinci in doubles

On Sunday, the doubles draw was also made for the 2 000 000 USD WTA tournament in Dubai: Timi and Julia Goerges will meet the pair of Barbora Strycova and Roberta Vinci.

The Hungarian player is ranked 12th, her German partner is ranked 24th. Strycova is 36th, and Vinci is 67th.

The 29-year old Czech player's career best position was 14th (31 January 2011). During her career she has won 17 WTA and 10 ITF events in this genre. In 2014 she played in the semifinal of the US Open, and she also reached the last four at the Australian Open in 2015. This year she played a final in Auckland (New Zealand, 250 000 USD, hard court, Co: Danka Kovinic).

The 32-year old Vinci had a career best position of 1st (15 October 2012) in doubles. So far, she has won 25 WTA and 10 ITF tournament. She was a Champion at the Australian Open in 2013 and 2014, at the Roland Garros in 2012, at Wimbledon in 2014 and at the US Open in 2012. All time Sara Errani was her partner.

In 2014 the Italian pair triumphed in the Wimbledon final against Timi and Kristina Mladenovic.
