Miami: good start in singles

"I am pleased that I managed to win today's match! I had a good start, but then I stopped a bit. I started playing tennis passively and it avenged of course. Which is positive, after the bad period I could bounced back, I played well again after 4:4. Moreover, the second set was particularly good. Thanks for your support"- said Timi, who began the doubles event on Thursday, then will meet Karolina Pliskova on Friday.

The 63-minute first act brought a lot of great battles and revolutions. Timi eventually won the opening set, after she fought a lot.

But the match did not start well ... The Hungarian player immediately lost her serve, saved only the first break point after 15-40. But later she won four games ina row, broke her opponent to 30, and to 40.

But the much more routine Tatishvili did not give up. In the seventh game sho broke to 0, then she equalized to 4:4 After thta, both player won their service games, so came the tie-break.

In the tie-break Timi immediately lost her serve, but she won five rallies in a row (5-1). Tatishvili then won a point, but had no chance for the turn-around. Timi won the next two rally.

The second set was much smoother! Timi broke her opponent early, to 15, she jumped to a 2:0 lead. Then Tatishvili saved a break point, but couldn’t do the same after 3:1.

After 4:1 Timi saved her service game, to 40, it clinched the match. In the last game, after 5:2 she hold her service game to 0.

Timi's next opponent will be the World No14 Karolina Pliskova. The Czech player has a career best position of 7 (17 August 2015). So far, she has won 4 WTA and 10 ITF tournament in singles. This year, she was a quarter-finalist in Sydney (Australia, 753 000 USD, hard court).

Timi and Karolina Pliskova has met three times: the Czech player won in in 2011 in Bratislava 6:4, 4:6, 7:6, in 2015 in Cincinnati  6:4, 7:5, and in Tianjin 6:3, 6:2.
